“Our Rights, Not Their Immunities” is a social justice movement dedicated to eradicating sovereign immunity, a legal shield that safeguards governments and their employees from prosecution for violating laws and human rights.

Sovereign immunity, also known as crown immunity, is a legal doctrine that grants the state immunity from civil suits and criminal prosecution. Historical evidence reveals that old European monarchies, including those ruling over Holland, relied on violence to control their populace and maintain power, often disregarding human rights by modern standards.

While the present-day Netherlands may seem far removed from its oppressive monarchy past, the reality contradicts the claim of respecting human rights. Despite the presence of United Nations agencies, the European Union, and numerous human rights organizations working to ensure human rights, sovereign immunity has allowed entrenched abusive practices within government institutions. These practices continue to torment countless Dutch citizens and their families.

In the Netherlands, which claims to be one of the best democracies, tens of thousands of children endure appalling human rights violations. Some fall victim to the assisted suicide law, while others mysteriously go missing. Many Muslim children in schools face beatings and humiliation in addition to forced daily Protestant prayer and consumption of pork. Also, Authorities, through false accusations, strip custody from thousands of parents annually.

These horrifying violations, resulting in permanent family separations, go unpunished due to institutions enjoying sovereign immunity. Additionally, media outlets are restricted from publishing these facts. The unassailable legal immunity facilitating human rights violations must no longer be tolerated.

We must all take a stand and oblige state governments to abolish sovereign immunity, as this is the only way human rights will be guaranteed.
